Downtown Los Angeles' Best Bicycle Rides
Los Angeles provides visiting cyclists with cycling routes for every occasion. Here are four classic rides that we recommend. Downtown LA To Hollywood Sign (49.4 km/30.7 mi)
This is a fairly moderate ride through one of the most famous spots in the city. You will make your way out of the city to the famous Griffith Park. Stop for a photo behind the famous Hollywood sign and check out the Griffith Observatory. After you have explored the park all you want, make your way back into the city where you began. You will gain 968 meters in elevation (3175 ft) and the ride will last roughly three hours.

Los Angeles Downtown to Mulholland Drive and Sunset Blvd (80.0 km/49.7 mi)
A moderately intense ride, on this route you will see the Santa Monica mountains as well as the famous Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills. You will exit the city and make your way around Griffith park and through some of California's best scenery. The second half of the ride takes you through Beverly Hills where you might just have a celebrity encounter or two. On this ride you will gain roughly 956 meters of elevation (3136 ft) and it will take approximately 5 hours.

LA Downtown to Pasadena Rose Bowl + Griffith Park, Mulholland and the Hollywood sign (84.5 km/52.5 mi)
This is a fairly intense ride for someone who wants to see as much as possible. You will start your ride visiting the famous Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena then head over to Griffith Park. While at the park, check out the famous observatory and get a picture behind the Hollywood Sign. Finish your ride through Mulholland drive making your way back downtown where you began. You will gain 1,074 meters in elevation (3,523 ft) and the ride will take you around 5 hours.

Downtown to Santa Monica Beach to Malibu via a climb through the Santa Monica Mountains (134.8 km/83.7 mi)
This is an intense ride for anyone who wants to push themselves and see as much of the area as possible. Leave downtown and ride up the coastline through the beautiful Santa Monica beach. Then bring your climbing legs for a section through Topanga State Park and the Santa Monica Mountains. Take a break in the beautiful city of Malibu then make your way back. This is an amazing ride that we highly recommend. You will gain 1,534 meters in elevation (5,032 ft) and the ride will take you around 7 hours.
